Shortly before the start of the game, everyone raised the cards on command.

After the European Championship game against Lithuania (107: 88), playmaker Schröder reported on Saturday of racist hostility – specifically of monkey noise – about the audience ranks against his person. The 31-year-old said: “You can insult me, but monkey noises is one thing that I do not respect and do not accept. Racism is not part of this sport.”

Spectators are excluded

The hostility came from individual Lithuanian fans. The FIBA had reacted to the incident and excluded a suspect of further EM game visits. Two fans had previously been expelled from the hall. Lithuania’s professionals apologized to Schröder. Also in the game against Great Britain on Monday, there were statements of solidarity with the German NBA professional.
