Israel Prime Minister Tech: Director reports on death threats
Propalestinian protests ensure a scandal on the tour of the Spain. The sports director of an Israeli team talks about fears. But one thing is out of the question for him.
Óscar Guerrero, sports director of the Rad-Team Israel Prime Minister Tech, has reported murder threats against the racing team. “We are afraid,” he told the Spanish radio station Onda Cero. Also under the impression of Propalestinian protests during the tour of the Spain, he asked not to “attack the team”.
On the eleventh stage of the Vuelta a España, the protests against the Gaza war had a scandal. Numerous demonstrators with Palestinian flags in the finish area prompted the racing jury to end the section three kilometers before the finish. There was no stage winner.
There were several occurrences on previous sections of the tour. On the fifth stage, demonstrators had stopped Israel Prime Minister Tech in team time trial.
A premature retreat from the tour of the tour was also discussed around the Vuelta. But the team does not want to give up, but continue the race. “Any other approach would create a dangerous precedent in cycling, not only for Tech Israel Prime Minister, but for all teams,” says an official statement.
