LASK hit against Salzburg is postponed

The Bundesliga hit by LASK against Red Bull Salzburg planned for Sunday actually has to be postponed. Due to too many positive corona cases in Salzburg, the Bundesliga postponed the game yesterday to next Wednesday.

Actually, the ÖFB Cup semifinals between Salzburg and Wolfsberger AC would have been planned for that day. This game has now been postponed indefinitely in consultation with the ÖFB. The final in the ÖFB Cup will not take place until May 1st. Until then, an alternative date will be found.

There should have been other positive cases in yesterday’s corona tests by Salzburg. As a result, Salzburg could no longer provide the 14 field players and two goalkeepers from the 30-man squad that are required as a minimum.

As originally fixed, all other games will take place on Sunday. There is hope by Wednesday that some of the players who have now tested positive will be able to test themselves free. In the Salzburg tests on Tuesday, there were 15 positive cases among players and coaches.
