The time has come again: The German Academy of Football Culture has nominated the eleven football sayings of the year-that’s them.
Football sayings are an integral part of sport. They are still circulating after decades in discussions about football. The most famous saying is probably “Milan or Madrid, the main thing is it Italy”, which Andy Möller is said to have said in 1992. The wisdom of the former national coach Sepp Herberger “After the game is before the game” are also part of it.
Final decision for football saying of the year in October
It has been the one since 2006 German Academy for Football Culture set the task of choosing the best saying of the year. A jury nominates eleven candidates, by. The final decision is made as part of the awarding of German football culture prices on October 24th in Nuremberg.
