Van der Vaart gives ex-club HSV tip for game at FC Bayern

Before duel with FC Bayern
Van der Vaart: Everything below five goals would be good for HSV

Before the HSV Bundesliga game in Munich, Rafael van der Vaart dampens the Hamburg expectations. However, the 42-year-old Dutch has a tip for his ex-club.

Optimism looks different: the former professional of Hamburger SV, Rafael van der Vaart, does not trust the Bundesliga returnee in the duel with the German football record champion FC Bayern. “A difficult task is waiting for the HSV,” he said in an interview to the broadcaster: “In my view, everything under five goals would be good.”

Hamburgers have to compete in the evening top match of the third match day in Munich on Saturday (6.30 p.m./Sky). After a 0-0 starting at Borussia Mönchengladbach, the HSV had lost 0: 2 at home against FC St. Pauli in the explosive city duel. The Munich team started with a 6-0 against RB Leipzig and a 3-2 at FC Augsburg.

Van der Vaart gives a recommendation on the way to Munich

“The first Bundesliga game after the climb was neat. However, the HSV had second division level against St. Pauli,” said van der Vaart: “Of course, every game is different and every team has a hard time against FC Bayern. But it definitely is not positive if you had no chance at home against St. Pauli beforehand and now has to go to Munich.”

The Hamburgers should simply enjoy and learn there to play a decent game – and they should hope “that there is no pack,” said the 42 -year -old Dutchman, who had played at HSV for three years from summer 2005 and mid -2012. How difficult the HSV has long had against Bayern has been proven to be statistics: In the past eight encounters with the HSV, the Munich team scored 50 goals, more than six per game in the past eight encounters.
