FC Bayern coach
“I was so angry”: Vincent Kompany reveals the reason for HSV farm
Vincent Kompany describes the situation that has moved him to leave HSV as “unacceptable”. Before the game against his ex-club, he reveals details about it.
When the last Bundesliga duel between Bayern Munich and Hamburger SV took place, Germany was still the reigning world champion and not yet pitiful in the group phase at the World Cup in Russia.
It was March 10, 2018 when the HSV – again – picked up a decent clap in Munich. The final result was 6: 0 at the time. FC Bayern met: twice Ribery, three times Lewandowski, once sealed.
After their return return, Hamburgers have to go back to the Bavarian capital for the first time in over seven years. The balance sheet should not give them any hope: In the last eight games against Bayern Munich, the HSV always left the pitch as a loser – and looks back on a miserable goal difference of 3:50.
On Saturday (6.30 p.m./Sky) The Hamburgers compete for the top game in Munich. For the host’s coach, Vincent Kompanyis it a reunion with his ex-club. In the run-up to the game, the 39-year-old revealed why there was a break with the Hanseatic League at the time.
Vincent Kompanys last HSV game was in Munich
Ironically, a duel against his current employer, FC Bayern, was decisive. On the first matchday of the new Bundesliga season on August 15, 2008, the HSV started in the Allianz Arena-since then the last away game in Munich, in which the Hanseates scored points (end result 2: 2). It should be the last game for Kompany in the North German jersey.
“I was so angry,” the Belgian described the situation at the time before the duel between Bayern with the HSV. What happened? The Hamburgers had that Defender in the summer of 2008 prematurely Returned by Olympics, even though he played for the medals with the Belgian national team at the summer games in Beijing. To make matters worse, coach Martin Jol only put him on the bench in the opening game in Munich. “I said: that doesn’t work!” Said Company. He remembered that other Bundesliga players were allowed to run at the Olympics until the end.
The moment was crucial for his further career: “After this game, I decided that I will be Wegen,” said Kompany. But that had nothing to do with the HSV. “For me that was unacceptable for me,” said Kompany. His father pushed for his whereabouts in Hamburg, but the defensive player moved to the Premier League to Manchester City. Afterwards he won many titles with the Sky Blues, among other things, four times English champion.
Nevertheless “warm” memories of time in Hamburg
Despite the unfortunate farewell, he has his station at the HSV, where Company two years from 2006 to 2008 played, but remembered as a “warm”. “The time in Hamburg was not easy personally, but very nice at the same time,” said the 39-year-old. “My mother died during this time, my sister also had cancer. I was hurt, Achilles tendon tear, nine months. It was not easy, but I still got a lot of friends in Hamburg, a lot from the club, a lot of support.
