“The city marathon is much more than a race: it is a true sport party and a celebration of the Buenos Aires spirit. Knowing that 15 thousand runners, despite the weather, competed in the most emblematic places of the city fills us with joy and pride,” said Fabián Turnes, the secretary of Sports.

The city’s international marathon has been running since 1984 and is the most convening and rapid in Latin America. It has an audit of the Argentine Athletics Confederation and the Metropolitan Athletic Federation, integrates the calendar of the International Marathons Association (AEFS) and every year receives runners from more than 45 countries. As in previous editions, the race included the South American Marathon Championship.
