Kodzoev began to attack first, striking his opponent in the chest. He constantly shifted and cornered Perez. The athlete tried to break through the defense of the Cuban, but he did not allow this to be done. The initiative in the battle was still with Kodzoev. At the end of the round, the opponents began to actively attack each other, but the gong sounded, and they went on a break.
In the second round, the Russian put pressure. Perez tried to deliver a couple of powerful punches, some of which Kodzoev missed. In the end, the Russian fighter led the opponent into the corner.
