The Buenos Aires governor regulated Law 15,189, which requires sports entities to train in gender and violence against women. The norm designates the ministries of Women and Diversity, and Community Development, as the joint application authority.

Governor Axel Kicillof regulated Law No. 15,189, which establishes mandatory training on gender issues and violence against women for all authorities and staff of Buenos Aires sports entities.

He Decree 2079/2025published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, designates as joint enforcement authority to the Ministry of Women and Diversityled by Estela Díaz, and Community Developmentwhose owner is Andrés “Cuervo” Larroque through their respective competent areas.

The measure seeks to guarantee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of training, as well as the participation of organizations and unions linked to sports.

Both portfolios may dictate complementary regulations and coordinate actions to ensure compliance with the law throughout the provincial territory.

What does the norm say?

The Law 15,189sanctioned and promulgated in 2020, establishes that all authorities and staff of sports entities of the province of Buenos Aires must carry out a Mandatory training on gender and violence against women.

Defines how sports entities at non-profit civil associations who develop sports activities, whether professional or not.

It provides that the authorities of each institution are responsible for guaranteeing that the trainings are implemented within the first year of validity of the law.

Additionally, it determines that each entity may define the mode and form of trainingbut the contents must comply with the provisions of the National Law 26,485the Micaela Law (27,499) and the Provincial Law 15,134following the minimum guidelines established by the enforcement authority.
