The boy who overcame cancer and was honored by his soccer team

This nine-year-old boy has a battle prior to the gesture from the fans of the Norwegian team. He suffered cancer at an early age and although he managed to overcome it, the disease it caused him to lose his right eye. When choosing a prosthesis, he surprised everyone because instead of choosing the same eye color or some combination that one might expect from a child’s imagination, The request was for it to have the Bodø/Glimt crest.

This news quickly reached everyone in the club, from managers, coaching staff, players and fans. The love that the boy reflected for the institution did not go unnoticed and everyone considered that now it was their turn to do something worthy of such a tribute.

In the duel for second day of the UEFA Champions League disputed in Norway between the Bodø/Glimt and Tottenham of England, a flag was unfurled that read “You had this and now we support you”. In it, the boy is seen holding a ball from the international tournament and wearing the shirt and his prosthesis in his right eye. A gesture of love, that only football and its people can give.
