The national team won its second consecutive title after beating Japan 2-0 in the final.
The Argentine women’s softball team, known as “Las Murciélagas”, was consecrated this Saturday two-time world champion by beating England 2-0 in the final of the IBSA Women’s Blind Football World Championships 2025.

In the semifinal, “Las Murciélagas” defeated none other than Brazil. They finished 0-0, but in overtime, Agustina Medina scored the only goal of the game. In the group stage they defeated Canada 5-0, Turkey 1-0 and Japan 1-0.
A place in the powers of sport
The result consolidates the country as the only country to achieve two consecutive titles in this category in the last decade. The first championship had been obtained in the previous edition, held in 2023, when they beat Japan 2 to 1 in the final.
The coaching staff was headed by coach Gonzalo Abbas and the assistants Santiago Juice, Sofia Sosa and Juliet Martin.
The tournament, organized by the IBSA Women’s Blind Football World Championships 2025, saw the participation of 16 national teams.
