Second division soccer team Hannover 96 starts a fundraiser and aid campaign for war refugees in the Ukrainian-Polish border area before the DFB Cup quarter-finals against RB Leipzig.
From 4:30 p.m. to kick-off time at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, there will be a bus in front of the stadium where spectators can drop off donations in kind such as sleeping bags and blankets, warm clothing for adults and children, baby food, hygiene items or non-prescription medicines.

The bus is to leave for the crisis area in the evening and bring 79 people to Hanover on the return journey, the 96ers announced on Tuesday after consultation with the city of Hanover. The city wants to distribute the war refugees to city accommodations after their arrival in Hanover.
