One more win before the final in Berlin: The semi-finals in the DFB Cup were drawn on Sunday, so the two pairings are now certain.
The semi-finals in the DFB Cup are on! As the draw on Sunday evening revealed, the only remaining second division team will meet SC Freiburg at home in the first duel with Hamburger SV. The second semi-final is a Bundesliga match between RB Leipzig and Union Berlin.
The semi-finals will be held on April 19th and 20th. The final in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium will then take place on May 21st.
DFB Cup: HSV the only cup winner among the remaining teams
For three of the four remaining teams it would be the first cup triumph in their club history, only HSV has already won the DFB Cup (three times). The Hamburg team last celebrated victory in this competition in 1987.
Leipzig has been in two of the last three finals, but lost both in 2019 against FC Bayern and last year against Dortmund.
