The Austrian Ski Association has promoted Marko Pfeifer to the new racing director for the alpine ski men. The 47-year-old from Carinthia will succeed Andreas Puelacher, who announced his departure after eight years in this position. Pfeifer has been the group coach of the slalom world cup team since April 2013. Before that he had worked in Sweden since 2001, including three years as head coach of the men’s team.
The ÖSV announced another important personnel decision on Thursday as part of the World Cup finals in Courchevel/Meribel. Herbert Mandl, who was brought back to the ÖSV at the beginning of March and who will officially be in office as the new Alpine boss from May 1st, was significantly involved in the appointment. The search for a new racing director for the alpine ski women is not yet complete, Christian Mitter will stop at the end of the season.
