One day after entering the ÖFB Cup final, Austria’s football doubles winner FC Salzburg announced the separation from midfield director Zlatko Junuzovic at the end of the season. The 34-year-old’s contract will not be extended. “Of course I regret this decision because I really like being here in Salzburg and I had a great, successful time,” said Junuzovic, who has not yet made any plans for the future. “I don’t know where my path will lead me yet. I will decide together with my family what is best for us.”
Due to a persistent heel injury, the ex-ÖFB team player, who came to the Mozart city from Werder Bremen in 2018, has only made five appearances and 358 minutes in the current season. “I hope that Sladdi will soon be his old self again and that we can celebrate two more titles together,” said Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund.
