A quartet of top clubs are said to be keen on PSV jewel Cody Gakpo. Including the German record champion.
According to a media report, Bayern Munich is showing concrete interest in Dutch striker Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. The Athletic writes that FCB is one of a number of top clubs that have had “serious talks” with the 22-year-old winger about a transfer in the summer.
According to the report, in addition to Bayern, Liverpool FC, Arsenal and Barcelona are said to have knocked on Gakpo’s door. After a premature extension a few weeks ago, his contract with PSV runs until the summer of 2026. A transfer fee of between 35 and 50 million euros is under discussion.
PSV: De Jong expects Gakpo transfer
Eindhoven’s technical director John de Jong had already stated a few months ago that leaving the coveted left winger was quite possible: “Of course, Gakpo will not stay in Eindhoven forever. He will eventually switch to a top club in a big league. Difficult too say if that will happen in the summer.”
Gakpo, who made his debut for Elftal during last summer’s European Championship finals, is considered one of the brightest prospects in the Netherlands. The PSV native has 16 goals and 15 assists in 37 competitive games for the Eredivisie runners-up this season.
