The mascot of the World Cup will be an Arab scarf called “La’eeb”

This announcement was preceded by the broadcast of the first official song of the World Cup, Hayya Hayya (Better Together)a few hours before.

That song, influenced by R&B and reggae, is performed “by the young American star Trinidad Cardona, the Afrobeat phenomenon Davido and the Qatari sensation Aisha”, indicates FIFA.

“By uniting voices from the Americas, Africa and the Middle East, the song symbolizes how music and football can build bridges around the world,” said Kay Madati, director of the Commercial Division of world football’s governing body.

“Within the framework of FIFA’s new musical strategy, the soundtrack will have several songs,” they pointed out from the international federation.

The World Cup in Qatar, from November 21 to December 18, will be the first to be played in an Arab country.

The songs of Qatar-2022 will try to acquire the enormous popularity of others from the past, especially the one obtained by Shakira’s “Waka Waka” and the South African group Freshlyground on the occasion of South Africa-2010.
