1:0 – Forward Steyr left the relegation zone

After the 1-0 win against the Young Violets, coach Daniel Madlener’s team is not in one of the two relegation zones for the first time since the first round.

Oliver Filip scored the decisive goal in the first attack after the break, which pushed forward to twelfth place (46th). Only one of the last nine games was lost – after the 3-1 draw against FC Juniors OÖ before the international break, they showed the right reaction.

FC Juniors OÖ remains last after beating Horn, a competitor for relegation, after a 2-2 draw. The Lower Austrians had led 2-0 before goals from Stefan Radulovic (61st) and Alexander Michlmayr (89th) earned at least one more point. The gap to Dornbirn on the first non-relegation zone is four points. At the top, Lustenau (2-0 in Amstetten) replaced FAC (1-1 in Innsbruck).

Kick for a good cause

Blau-Weiß Linz was on the ball with the GAK when this issue went to press. There were only winners at a kickerl on Thursday: Matthias Seidl and Fabian Neumayr played in St. Georgen im Attergau with 83 children from the Ukraine who had fled the war. “The boys and girls were very happy,” says Klaudia Dorninger from freiraum-europa, a non-profit association from Linz that organized house collections.
