The new naming of the stadium located at 7597 Figueroa Alcorta Avenue will be “Most Monumental”after having reached an agreement with the company “Chango Más”.
The contract will be for seven years and will leave River with the sum of 20 million dollarswhich will serve largely for the renovation of the stadium, whose works are already underway.
In this sense, the club plans to finish the remodeling and expansion works in mid-2024 and it is estimated that the total cost will be around 45 million dollars, of which about 25 million will come from the sale of boxes, location and parking.
“This work is a purely private enterprise. We do not have long-term lines of credit, or anything like that. We face this with money that arises from the naming of the stadium, and from the contribution of people who love River”expressed the president of the entity Jorge Brito at the press conference in which the new name was announced.
Also present at the presentation was businessman Francisco De Narváez, head of Grupo Narváez, owner of “Chango Más”, who was “proud and excited” that the Monumental stadium bears part of his company’s name.
It is estimated that after the reforms, the “millionaire” stadium will be able to receive 81,000 people, the largest capacity in all of South America.
With that capacity, it would leave behind the Maracaná stadium (78,838) and the Monumental Stadium of the University of Lima (80,000).
