Gonzalo Higuain has contradicted his father after the statements about the end of his career – and does not want to hang up his shoes just yet.
Gonzalo Higuain has responded to his father’s statements about an impending end to his career and described them as a “misunderstanding”, meaning that the 33-year-old will remain in professional football.
“It was a misunderstanding he had with me,” Higuain told reporters on Wednesday, adding, “I never told him I was retiring. He expressed himself wrongly. That can happen.” Jorge Higuain said this week that his son will retire at the end of the calendar year.

“Of course I’m close to the point where I’m going to stop playing football, but I’m not thinking about that at the moment,” added Higuain. So what is the Argentine attacker’s plan? Higuain joined Inter Miami from Juventus in September 2020. He has made 44 appearances for the club so far, scoring 15 goals. He has scored twice in five MLS games this season.
