There was great jubilation at Union Altenberg after the 3-1 away win in Vorderweißenbach. Coach Erwin Seyr’s team took the lead in the district league north and took first place in the club’s history. “Leadership looks great, but it’s just a snapshot. In any case, it’s confirmation of the good work done by the youngsters,” says coach Seyr.
Altenberg relies on self-made players and plays with local kickers at the forefront. Tomorrow, however, Putzleinsdorf will be a very difficult chunk for the top game in the Waldstadion. “It will definitely be a very difficult game. Putzleinsdorf has scored the most goals in the league, so the offensive is strong,” says Seyr.
With David Berger and Matyas Markytan, the third in the table has the two top scorers in the league in the team. In the first leg last September, Altenberg kept the Putzleinsdorfer offensive well in check and narrowly won 1-0 away. The fight for promotion in the district league north is completely open.
There are only seven points between the first Altenberg and the fifth Gallneukirchen. Seyr: “Putzleinsdorf has the momentum on his side, Freistadt has also made up ground and Julbach will also get going. In the end, the necessary luck will also be decisive.”
Gallneukirchen demands Julbach
The second big game of the 18th round is tomorrow Gallneukirchen against Julbach. While the Gallneukirchners, despite the 1-0 defeat in Hofkirchen, started well with nine points from four games, Herbstmeister Julbach is still without a win. SV Freistadt also welcomes Hellmonsödt tomorrow. (fr)
