FC Bayern: Julian Nagelsmann received death threats after CL-Aus

Julian Nagelsmann spoke at a press conference about hostilities against him on the Internet. The FC Bayern coach is therefore threatened with death a hundred times.

The disappointment among Bayern fans was great after they were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Against FC Villarreal, the Munich team didn’t manage to turn around the 0-1 defeat in the first leg in the second leg (1-1). Some approached coaches and players on social media after the break – even with death threats, as reported by Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann.

At the press conference before the Bundesliga game against Arminia Bielefeld, Nagelsmann spoke of “450 death threats on Instagram”. Sometimes there were even threats against his mother. “It’s clear that a lot of people want to kill me, but now they’re also shooting at my own mother, who has nothing to do with football and the elimination,” said the 34-year-old. “That’s wild.”

Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t give a damn about the hostilities

The hatred on the net is often directed at his tactical decisions as a coach: “In general, when we play a three-way chain, there are more death threats than when we play a four-way chain, and if you then lose a little more. ” Nagelsmann also made some controversial substitutions in the second leg against Villarreal.

According to the coach, the hostilities “don’t give a damn”. At least outwardly, the Bayern coach, who has been coaching the record champions’ team since this season, is relaxed: “People should write what they want, but think a little more about it.” Nagelsmann complained that the users concerned had no decency.

Apparently he doesn’t want to take legal action. “Of course you can show all of that, but then I won’t be able to finish it,” said the Bayern coach at the press conference, adding slightly resignedly: “They don’t change anyway because they think they’re right.”
