Nuri Sahin is at the beginning of his coaching career. If the long-time BVB player has his way, he will also work in Dortmund at some point.
Nuri Sahin, currently coach of the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor, has his sights set on a return to Borussia Dortmund. “I’m very happy here. I want to stay here. But of course I have goals: I want to win trophies. I want to be successful. I want to train Dortmund,” said the former BVB player in a video interview Tivibu Spor.
Sahin surprisingly took over as coach at Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig in mid-October. The 33-year-old has not lost a game with his team in the last ten games, with a record of seven wins and three draws. By his own admission, however, he still has a five-year contract with Antalyaspor.
Nuri Sahin celebrated great successes with BVB
As a player, the then midfield director had his most successful time with Dortmund: In 2005, when he made his BVB debut at the age of 16, he became the youngest Bundesliga player at the time.
In total, he played 274 competitive games for the black and yellow, with whom he also became champion (2011) and cup winner (2017).
