Goalkeeper legend should save Donau Linz from relegation

After seven defeats in a row, Upper Austrian division club Donau Linz was forced to change coaches again and part with Marco Mittermayr. With an internal solution, the big goal of staying up in the league should still be achieved.

The club is now relying on a trio of coaches until the end of the season: OÖN had already reported on this in today’s lower house supplement, now it’s official: Ex-team goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach Klaus Lindenberger, the previous assistant Christoph Oberegger and manager Kurt Baumgartner should change tack . “With Lindenberger’s decades of experience as well as the emotion and the Danube heart of club legends Baumgartner and Oberegger, everything should be tried again,” says Chairman Schütz, who still sees the chances of staying up in the league.

A very special debut awaits the Mittermayr successors on Friday: Important points are at stake in the derby against Edelweiss Linz.
