Quo vadis, Stadl-Paura?

The sporting future: Stadl-Paura can no longer be prevented from being relegated to the Upper Austria League. A squad policy as before is then no longer possible due to the stricter regulations in the Upper Austrian league. While there are no foreigner restrictions in the regional league, 14 of the 16 players on the match report in the Upper Austrian league must be association players. And as an association player, you either have to be Austrian or have played uninterruptedly in Austria for four years, or be a U18 player who is registered with an Austrian club for the first time. In the 1-1 draw against Spittal last week, there was only one Austrian in the 18-man squad, Ari Taner. The rest were spread across Serbia, France, Russia, Hungary, Brazil, Ivory Coast and South Korea. With one or two exceptions, all players are active as players for the first time in Austria and only came to Stadl-Paura in February 2022. Stadl-Pauras chairman Hans Stöttinger says: “We have enough of our own young players for the Upper Austrian league.”

Cause of betting fraud: The responsible public prosecutor’s office in Klagenfurt is still not letting up. Despite a complaint, a confession and the fact that the accused have remained the same, the evidence is still being found. The reason: On the one hand, there are no victims who admit to being affected by damage. In addition, the most important suspects are not tangible. According to the public prosecutor’s office, requests for legal assistance were sent to Montenegro and South Korea. Two of the four suspects are said to be there. It is unclear whether this request will be granted.
