Argentine delegation left for Rosario for the South American Youth Games

“In our flag is our identity, our country. We compete, play and strive for our families, our friends, through our streets. All our provinces will be represented by this delegation and that precisely has to do with the fact that our sports are federal, broad, and represents the enormous diversity that our country has”highlighted Arrondo in the farewell ceremony.


The two previous editions of these Games were held in the capitals of Peru and Chile, the first in September 2013 in Lima and the second between September 29 and October 8, 2017 in Santiago.


For this third edition there will be in Rosario more than 1,500 athletes representing 15 countries who will participate in 25 disciplines, and unlike the previous two the format will vary, since it will take place in a sports center that will take place in the Parque de la Independencia, where , among others, is the Newell’s Old Boys stadium.


The expectations for these 11 days of competition is that approximately one million spectators pass through the wide sports space. There will also be a single award center that will work in the Fan Fest of the Oroño Corridor.
The 15 countries participating in this event will be Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Curaçao, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.


Representatives from these countries will compete in the following 25 disciplines: Athletics, Badminton, Beach Handball, 3×3 Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Climbing, Fencing, Futsal, Artistic Gymnastics, Hockey 5, Judo, Karate, Weightlifting, Olympic Wrestling, Swimming, Figure Skating, Speed ​​Skating, Rugby 7 , Skateboarding, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Archery and Triathlon.


The eight competition venues detailed by the organization will be the Hippodrome, La Rural, Paseo 21 (Oroño and 27 de Febrero, in the Parque de la Independencia), the Jorge Newbery Municipal Stadium, the Parque Independencia Lake, the Newell’s club Old Boys and the Pool Complex. Next Thursday the hubbub of young athletes will invade all of them. At 8 pm, at the Lake, the opening ceremony will take place.
