Ried goalie Samuel Sahin-Radlinger is the “Plan B” of league rival Austria Vienna – laola1.at reported on this Tuesday. The 29-year-old should be on the Violets’ radar should their one-goal goalie Patrick Pentz decide against extending his contract, which expires in the summer.
Thomas Reicheltshammer, head of sport at SV Guntamatic Ried, knows about the rumored interest of the Viennese in the Innviertler goalkeeper. “But there haven’t been any concrete talks yet,” says the 33-year-old.
The Rieder do not want to lose Sahin-Radlinger under any circumstances – and are in good spirits to keep their darling of the public. “Sami has a contract until 2023 and feels very comfortable in Ried. A lot would have to happen for a transfer to take place. He is our lighthouse and, alongside Marcel Ziegl, the absolute figurehead of the club.” A high transfer fee would have to be paid – whether Wiener Austria, which has not been prayed for roses financially, can afford this is extremely unrealistic.
