Gallardo does not save anything: he goes to Brazil with the best to qualify

Ranking as first or second in the local tournament will give Gallardo the chance to play with a substitute team this Sunday against Platense and reserve the starters for the matchup of the League quarterfinals, which will be on Wednesday, May 11 in condition of local.

Thus, if no problems arise, the “cupbearer” team would be with: Franco Armani, Andrés Herrera, Paulo Díaz, David Martínez and Milton Casco; Nicolás de la Cruz, Enzo Pérez and Enzo Fernández; Santiago Simon, Julian Alvarez and Essequiel Barco.

Although Tomás Pochettino recovered from the blow to the instep and returned to training normally, Simón will regain his place among the starters. The youth rested on the bench over the weekend against Sarmiento as part of the rotation.

Meanwhile, as there is little time for work on Sunday, “Muñeco” Gallardo took advantage of the training session prior to the trip to Brazil to practice soccer with the substitutes who are going to play over the weekend.

Among them were Ezequiel Centurión, Emanuel Mammana, Leandro González Pírez and Elías Gómez; Agustín Palavecino, Bruno Zuculini and Pochettino; Matías Suárez, Braian Romero and José Paradela. All of them are on the squad list, which is completed with goalkeeper Franco Petroli.

By last, The team will train again tomorrow morning at the Ezeiza venue to travel to Fortaleza at 2:30 p.m. where he will remain until Friday when he returns to Buenos Aires to continue concentrating since two days later he plays against Platense.

Meanwhile, Maidana and “Juanfer” Quintero continue to work differently due to muscle injuries and the idea is to intensify training next week.

Gallardo plans to count on them for some of the two Libertadores games that remain to be played after the crossing with Fortaleza and especially he wants the Colombian ready in case he reaches the semifinals and final of the Professional League.

In any case, as the competition of the local tournament continues and starts on June 5, with seven games in a month, the players will have many possibilities to add minutes on the field to recover the rhythm.

In another order of things, it was confirmed that the team is going to play -during the month of May- four home games at the Monumental, where it can continue making history since it sold out the tickets in the last seven games.

The first game will be on the final date of the League against Platense this weekend and the second on Wednesday, May 11, when it is local in the quarterfinals of the playoffs, since River secured second place.

Then they will have the two games of the Libertadores group stage against Colo Colo and Alianza Lima, on May 19 and May 25, respectively. The semifinals and the final of the Professional League will be on neutral grounds.

The fans and partners of River are going to be able to see, in these games, the evolution of the works in the construction of the lower stalls of the San Martín that began this week as part of the remodeling works of the Monumental.
