Zinedine Zidane has had great success as a coach at Real Madrid, especially in the Champions League. Should he do the same with PSG in the future?
Noel Le Graet, President of the French Football Association FFF, sees Zinedine Zidane as a candidate for the post of national coach – provided the 49-year-old does not take over at Paris Saint-Germain.
“For the people in France he is a possible successor to Didier Deschamps, but I’m not working on that at the moment,” Le Graet told the newspaper L’Equipe. “If Didier and I end our cooperation, he will certainly be one of the candidates. But at the moment we are doing everything we can to give him the best possible chance of becoming world champion again.”
There have long been rumors of Deschamps saying goodbye after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Whether things would get serious with Zidane in this case also depends on the former Real coach himself.

“At the moment I don’t think so: hopefully Deschamps will retire after the World Cup, then I can try for Zidane. We’ll see what happens. Zidane could take over PSG. To be able to coach France you have to be free,” concluded Le Graet away.
