Karim Adeyemi before Bundesliga record transfer

Karim Adeyemi before Bundesliga record transfer

The most expensive transfer from the Austrian Bundesliga is about to be completed. According to the well-connected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi (20) is to switch to German runners-up Borussia Dortmund for 38 million euros plus follow-up payments. The papers – allegedly without an exit clause – should be ready for signature. Salzburg sports director Christoph Freund also expects it to be completed soon: “It can go very quickly now.”

Adeyemi would outperform Patson Daka with said transfer fee. The 23-year-old from Zambia moved from FC Salzburg to Leicester City in July 2021 for 30 million euros. “Only” 20 million were transferred to the Mozart city in January 2020 for Erling Braut Haaland’s move to Dortmund. The Norwegian’s guest appearance in Westphalia comes to an end after two and a half years: Haaland informed the club that he will make use of his exit clause. The 21-year-old goalscorer is drawn to Manchester City. The English leaders have to pay around 75 million euros.

FC Bayern hopes to acquire Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig at a lower price. The people of Munich should be ready to loosen 18 to 20 million for the 24-year-old ÖFB team player, whose contract with the Saxons runs until the summer of 2023. “I don’t mind if we buy one or two pressing machines,” said Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann. Ajax player Ryan Gravenberch (19), who is currently injured, is considered a safe entry in midfield. The Amsterdam club are on course for the title with two rounds to go in the Dutch championship. The advantage over pursuers PSV Eindhoven, who after a 2-0 lead at Feyenoord did not get more than 2-2 up to the 86th minute, is four points. Gernot Trauner was substituted for the team from Rotterdam (76th).
