Former Argentina junior international Maxi Rolon has died in a car accident. His ex-club FC Barcelona confirmed the tragic accident on Saturday. “We are devastated by the death of Maxi Rolon (born 1995), who played in FC Barcelona’s youth team from 2010 to 2016,” wrote the Blaugrana on Twitter.
According to Argentine police, Rolon was driving with his brother Ariel near Casilda, Santa Fe province, when his car went off the road and crashed into a tree. Both brothers died from the injuries they sustained.

The Rolon brothers were currently taking part in the Casildense regional league, with all games in Sunday’s competition canceled following the tragedy.
Rolon, former U20 national player, was once considered a great talent. He played 24 times for FC Barcelona’s second team. He then laced up his shoes for top Brazilian club FC Santos, as well as clubs in Ecuador, Chile, Iraq and Argentina, among others.
