As the eighth Austrian club in the 14th league, Vorarlberg are now eligible to play for the coming season. The club still had to “finally confirm this by fulfilling the necessary obligations” by May 27, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Feldkirchers, who won nine championship titles between 1982 and 1998, originally announced that they wanted to start the 2022/23 season together with the Dornbirn Bulldogs as Team Vorarlberg. However, the Bulldogs withdrew from the House of Lords in late April for financial reasons, clearing the way for the VEU solo. Last year, the application for membership was still rejected.
