Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out for a long time after knee surgery. The career of the Swedish superstar could be over.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss AC Milan for around seven to eight months after the Swede underwent knee surgery. This was officially announced by the Rossoneri on Wednesday afternoon.
“AC Milan announce that Zlatan Ibrahimovic underwent surgery on his left knee today by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in the presence of the club’s Head of Health, Stefano Mazzoni, at the Hospital Jean Mermoz in Lyon,” read the club statement.
End of career at Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
“The arthroscopy had been planned for some time to finally correct the instability of the joint through an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with lateral reinforcement and meniscus repair. The operation was a complete success.”
There is a big question mark behind the future of the 40-year-old after the contract with the new Italian champions expires in the summer anyway. It is more than questionable how things will continue after that surgery, and the end of a career is also conceivable.
