Some Eintracht Frankfurt players had celebrated the Europa League victory with pyrotechnics. So now there is trouble.
The pyro-jubilation of Timothy Chandler, Goncalo Paciencia and Aymen Barkok at the title party on the balcony of the Römer in Frankfurt may have consequences for the three Eintracht Frankfurt players.
The Frankfurt police began investigating some players on Friday. “We have documented the events as evidence and initiated appropriate criminal proceedings,” said police spokesman Thomas Hollerbach picture-Newspaper.

The public prosecutor’s office will now decide how to proceed. It cannot yet be conclusively assessed “whether this initial suspicion of a criminal offense then persists or whether it amounts to an administrative offense procedure,” said Hollerbach.
On TV images and photos of the celebrations after the Europa League triumph of the SBU, you can see how the three Eintracht players on the Römer’s balcony are holding burning pyro torches in their hands. In the event of an administrative offence, the Eintracht trio faces a fine, and if the public prosecutor classifies the action as a criminal offence, there could be proceedings against the players.
