The Vöest crane pinches its knee in front of EM

Austria’s two-time Olympic starter in weightlifting, Sargis Martirosjan, is now used to pain. In the previous year before the games in Tokyo, he had trouble with his elbow, before his European Championship appearance in Tirana on Saturday, his knee is now pinching. Nevertheless, the 35-year-old wants to tie in with the old days in his special discipline of snatching in the class up to 109 kg. “I feel ready,” said the lifter from Bundesliga champions SK Vöest Linz. In 2018 Martirosyan already won the gold medal in Bucharest.

His Vöest teammates Victoria Hahn (up to 71 kg) and Amagiak Misakian (up to 81), Austrian citizens since last November, are already lifting weights in Albania. It’s all about a medal on Sunday when Sarah Fischer goes to work in the A group of the +87 kg class.
