Swimmer Delfina Pignatiello announced her retirement from professional activity

“Sport is part of my life from another side, I keep swimming and being in the water will always continue to be my place in the world,” said the native of San Isidro, triple gold medalist at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

“I bought a camera and embarked on an artistic path which I am exploring with great curiosity, desire to learn and continue to grow. It makes me very happy and made me dream again,” he explained.

Pignatiello, who jumped to the general consideration with two silver medals achieved at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 (400 and 800 free meters), chose to “thank those who have accompanied me up to here and those who choose to continue doing so”.

“I always encouraged you to chase your dreams. Today I add: also dare to kick boards and start a new game!”, he suggested.

“Always choose your path from the heart, with love, courage and dedication. I hope you become the child you always wanted to be,” concluded the swimmer.

Pignatiello’s best performance in her short swimming career came in 2019, on the occasion of the Pan American Games in Lima, when she became champion in the 400, 800 and 1500 free meters.
