Liverpool are apparently considering a transfer from Brazilian Raphinha. This would put the Reds in the way of FC Barcelona.
Liverpool FC apparently have their sights set on a desired player from FC Barcelona in their search for a replacement for Sadio Mane, who is willing to emigrate. Again Mirror reported, the Brazilian Raphinha is on the note from Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp.
Accordingly, Klopp is a fan of the 25-year-old, who scored eleven league goals in the past season at Leeds United, who were almost relegated. The left-footed player, who can play on either flank, would fit in well with the Reds’ fast-paced, aggressive game. His contract in Leeds, which only managed to stay up on the last day of the game, runs until 2024.
Raphinha could fill the void left by Sadio Mane’s departure. The Senegalese is associated with FC Bayern. At last he had hinted meaningfully – and they wished that he would go. In the meantime, however, he has rowed back and spoke of a joke.
Raphinha to Liverpool – Takumi Minamino to Leeds?
Noisy Mirror if Raphinha moves to Anfield, another player could go the opposite direction. We’re talking about the Japanese Takumi Minamino, who rarely played a role under Klopp and was also loaned to FC Southampton for half a year.
Leeds coach Jesse Marsch and Minamino know each other from their time together at Red Bull Salzburg. In the 2019/20 season they both worked together in Austria for six months before Minamino moved to Liverpool.
However, FC Barcelona has not yet given up hopes of a transfer from Raphinha. According to the Spanish newspaper Sports Barca sporting director Mateu Alemany will travel to Leeds next week for negotiations. The Catalans had secretly hoped for a relegation of the Premier League club which would reportedly have resulted in a €25m release clause for Raphinha.
As it is, however, Leeds can demand significantly more, there is talk of 65 million euros. Barca, on the other hand, who still have little financial leeway, do not want to pay more than 40 million euros. Instead, a player of the caliber of Oscar Mingueza should be part of the deal.
