According to ÖFB information, the problem with the lawn was still being clarified on the morning of the service. The probable cause was the heavy rain from Sunday to Monday night in Vienna.
Danish striker Andreas Skov Olsen discovered the hole in the center circle after the final whistle. TV pictures showed half of the 22-year-old’s lower leg disappearing into it (see video below).
According to the association, there are no concerns about the Nations League home game of the ÖFB team against world champions France, which is also scheduled for Friday in the Vienna Prater. Specialized technicians would still check the lawn, the association said. (Also read the individual review: No “very good” in the ÖFB team)
