Given this situation, the German firm filed a plagiarism lawsuit against Nike and asks the company to compensate it financially for this activity.

“Adidas has long been a leader in mobile technology, including fitness-related technology. The company was the first in the industry to bring comprehensive data analytics to athletes.” the German firm said in its lawsuit.
However, this is just another showdown between sports retail giants. Last December, Nike petitioned the International Trade Commission to block the importation of Adidas Primeknit footwear, claiming that the shoes infringed Nike’s Flyknit patents.
In addition, both companies are in turn immersed in other legal battles for issues related to patents. In the case of the US giant, the company filed a lawsuit against Stockx in February, alleging that the sneaker resale platform used Nike’s trademarked logos and products in an attempt to enter the NFT market. Nike has also accused Lululemon of patent infringement on its Mirror fitness device.
In the case of Adidas, the company was sued last year for Milkcrate Athletics for copyright infringement.
