Großschartner seventh at the Tour de Suisse

Großschartner seventh at the Tour de Suisse

Almost two weeks before the start of the Tour de France, defending champion Tadej Pogacar confirmed his role as a favorite by winning the Tour of Slovenia. Marchtrenker Felix Großschartner (Bora) is also doing well. After a final seventh place in the individual time trial in Vaduz (25.6 km), he ended the Tour de Suisse as a strong seventh. “It was a good week with a fine end result,” said the 28-year-old. Briton Geraint Thomas secured the title in a superior manner.

Three-time road world champion Peter Sagan has other concerns. The Slovakian had to give up the Tour of Switzerland before the final stage after testing positive for the corona virus for the third time in 18 months. “I have no symptoms,” tweeted Sagan, for whom it is getting tight with a view to the tour starting on July 1st. Before him, more than 40 professional cyclists had to give up the tour because of the Corona wave.

Daniel Lehner (Felbermayr Simplon Wels) was crowned national criterion champion in Graz.
