LASK is opening a new chapter in women’s football: With the coming season, the Upper Austrians are expanding the LASK Academy Upper Austria with their own girls’ football department, which should help to combine training and school education in the best possible way.
Benjamin Stolte is the head of department. The 31-year-old was most recently the head coach and sporting director of the women’s team at FC Wacker Innsbruck. “What LASK has built up in such a short time in terms of women’s football is impressive. So when the club approached me, I didn’t have to think long. LASK’s potential is great – I will do my part to make the best possible use of this potential “, says Benjamin Stolle.
Like their male colleagues, the female players visit either BORG Honauerstrasse or HAS Rudigierstrasse. The close cooperation with the partner schools makes it possible to also train in the mornings. The AKA players are eligible to play for the existing U16 team and the athletic team. Assignments for the planned 1B team, which will play in the women’s class from next season, are also possible.
