Basketball star Drummond saves his son’s life

NBA star Andre Drummond has posted a dramatic video on Twitter: It shows the Los Angeles Lakers professional jumping into the pool and saving his son from drowning.

Basketball star Andre Drummond saved the life of his two-year-old son Deon by jumping into the in-house pool. The little one had slipped from the edge of the pool into the water and Drummond immediately sprinted over and jumped after with all his clothes.

The incident became known because the basketball pro himself published the video from a surveillance camera on Twitter. “Not all heroes wear capes. The worst nightmare for parents … with me and my son,” wrote Drummond and added three smiling smileys. He assured: “Nobody in this video was injured.”

Incident takes place at home in Philadelphia

The incident occurred at his home in Philadelphia, according to media reports. Drummond moved from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers at the end of the season. At the Lakers, where he played together with the German professional Dennis Schröder, he completely disappointed.

The team around superstar LeBron James was eliminated in the first play-off round against the Phoenix Suns and could not defend their title. James and the team’s second superstar, Anthony Davis, were injured frequently and missed dozens of games. Schröder also missed eleven games because he had to be in corona quarantine twice.

Schröder signs a one-year contract in Boston

Schröder has also left the Lakers and has switched to NBA record champions Boston Celtics. Before the start of the playoffs, he had turned down an offer from the Lakers for four years and an 80 million dollar salary. But apparently he didn’t feel comfortable there. In Boston, Schröder signed a one-year contract and is supposed to share the playing time in the point guard position with Marcus Smart. For him, it’s about recommending himself for a new and higher-endowed contract.
