Anna Elendt has suffered a setback on her intended way to becoming the absolute world leader.
The silver medalist in the 100m breaststroke was surprisingly eliminated in the 200m heats at the World Swimming Championships in Budapest. The woman from Frankfurt only took seventh place in her run, was 23rd overall and beat her German record by more than five seconds with a time of 2:30.08 minutes. The evening session on Wednesday will therefore take place without German participation.
“After the silver medal I was a bit out of breath and with the relay races on Monday I have now had five starts. That was a bit much, »said the 20-year-old and now wants to concentrate entirely on the 50-meter breaststroke on Friday. «Before that, I’ll get a good night’s sleep, then I’ll take a walk around Margaret Island and see what’s going on here. There should also be a petting zoo, maybe I’ll go there, »said Elendt.
