For Nasheim, it is the third stint with the Black Wings. After his time as a player (200-2003), during which he was able to celebrate the first championship title in club history as captain, he started his coaching career as an assistant coach between 2004 and 2010 in Linz. After stations in Ingolstadt, Vienna and Dornbirn, he is now returning “home”.
“It’s not a bit of an exaggeration to say I’m coming home. For me, Linz and the Black Wings are far more than a job, it’s an affair of the heart. It is a huge pleasure and honor for me to be able to work again for the club that has given me so much over so many years. Together with all the staff at the club, we will work hard and tirelessly every day for the success of the Black Wings,” said Nasheim.
President Peter Nader adds: “Rick Nasheim is a real top transfer for the club. Hardly anyone has shaped Linz ice hockey like he has. With his expertise, his excellent network and his many years of experience, he will certainly help the Black Wings enormously. We are very pleased that we were able to strengthen the organization with him and that he will be with us for at least two seasons”.
