The athletes can welcome a new striker in their ranks: As the OÖN had already reported on Monday, Marin Ljubicic is moving from Hajduk Split to LASK on loan. The people of Linz have a purchase option. The 20-year-old played 37 games for the Croatian runners-up and cup winners last season and contributed eight goals and three assists.
He scored twice in qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League. Marin Ljubicic also received his football training at Hajduk, where he went through the youth departments. His performances at club level also earned him appearances in the Croatian national under-20 and under-21 teams.
The neo-black and white visibly feels at home with the athletes: “I’m very happy to be at LASK now. The club has a long tradition, many fans and just as much potential. Of course, I also talked to my Hajduk team-mate Lukas Grgic and got very detailed information about LASK. This exchange and the very good discussions with the sporting management were decisive for my decision.”
LASK sports director Radovan Vujanovic underlines that LASK was by no means the only one interested in the young Croatian: “Marin has great talent, some top clubs at home and abroad had him on the list. Despite the strong competition, we managed to convince him of our path. This loan including a purchase option is an important building block in our squad planning, which we will continue to push ahead with in the coming weeks.”
