Black Wings sign storm talent

On Wednesday, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz present Kilian Rappold, the fifth newcomer for the coming season. The 20-year-old attacker has already completed 38 games in Austria’s highest league for his hometown club Graz99ers. In addition, Rappold, whose younger brother Matthias is already working for the Ice Hockey Academy Upper Austria, is a permanent part of the U20 national team that played at the Junior World Championships in Edmonton last December.

Rappold is eligible to play for both the Black Wings and the Steelwings. “I have known and observed Kilian for a long time. I would have liked to have had him on the team with the Steelwings in the pre-season. He has enormous potential,” says coach Philipp Lukas.

“The concept and the new, fresh wind at the Black Wings impressed me from the very first talks. A lot is going in the right direction in the organization at the moment,” says Rappold.
