Fenerbahce are looking for a free transfer from Cedric Bakambu, who is currently playing for Beijing Guoan in China. That reports NTV Sports. Accordingly, the Congolese wants to dissolve his contract with the CSL club because there are problems with the regular salary payments.
Bakambu moved from Villarreal to Beijing Guoan in 2018 for a EUR 40 million transfer. Since a transfer tax was introduced in China at the same time, the change cost the club a whopping 74 million euros in the end.
In return, Bakambu, which is said to earn around 18 million euros per year in China, delivered 79 goal participations in three and a half seasons.
Barca move failed shortly before signing
A year and a half ago, Bakambu thought he was about to leap to FC Barcelona, with whom he had verbally agreed. But on the way to Europe by plane, he learned that the deal had broken.
