Two police officers are shot dead after fireworks at a July 4th celebration in Philadelphia.

Two US police officers were shot dead after a fireworks display as part of a July 4th celebration in Philadelphia, USA.

One of the 36-year-old officers assigned to the traffic police that night had a cut wound on his forehead. Another officer, aged 44, who was assigned to guard the event, was shot in the right shoulder.

According to ABC News, both officers were transferred to Jefferson University Hospital and have since been discharged.

So far, no suspects have been identified.
