Portuguese center Neemias Keta scored 11 points and 10 rebounds on Tuesday in the Sacramento Kings’ 87-75 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the North American Basketball League (NBA) Summer League.
In addition to the double-double, the Portuguese also made two assists and a tackle in a game that saw Keegan Murray lead the Kings with 17 points.
The Kings finish the tournament in San Francisco, California with three wins in three games.
On Saturday, the Kings announced that Nehemiah Kweta had extended his contract, again a “two-way” contract, allowing him to play for the first team in the NBA and for the Stockton Kings in the Development League (G-League), just like last season.
In the 2021/22 season, the 2.13-meter pole at the age of 22 became the first Portuguese to play in the NBA, playing 15 games in which he added 45 points (average 3.0 per game), 31 rebounds (2.1), eight tackles (0.5) and six assists (0.4) in 119.34 minutes (8.0).
