Wolverhampton Wolves’ Portuguese winger Chiquinho has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in one knee and will undergo surgery due to a long absence from the pitch, the English Football League emblem announced today.
“Ciquinho was examined after suffering a knee injury in a collision on the track. [jogo] yesterday’s friendly [sábado]. Unfortunately, tests confirm damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, and plans for surgery and rehabilitation are currently being developed. Force Chiqui, we are with you! — wrote the British club in the social network Twitter.
The Wolves, who are coached by Portugal’s Bruno Lage, have not given a stoppage time, but given the severity of the injury, it’s highly likely that the 22-year-old will be out for an extended period.
Chiquinho joined Wolves in January 2022 from Estoril Praia and has played a total of nine official matches.
